Reading Stars Achieve Phonics
From literacy specialists Ransom Publishing, Reading Stars Achieve Phonics is aimed at KS2 and KS3 learners who are still on their phonics journey, and need genuinely engaging, fully decodable books that allow them to apply their knowledge and develop their literacy skills. The series consists of diverse and inclusive fiction and non-fiction titles, with age-appropriate topics and characters.
- Dyslexia-friendly fiction and non-fiction texts, with age-appropriate stories, topics, characters and illustrations
- Aligned to Unlocking Letters and Sounds (which largely follows the Letters and Sounds 2007 progression), with new phonics knowledge introduced very gradually from the beginning of Phase 2 right through to the end of Phase 5
- Specially written (simpler, shorter, repetitive) texts for weaker readers, with a carefully planned upward curve over the course of the phases
- Specially designed not to look like a 'straight' reading programme, to avoid stigma with older children
- Diverse and inclusive to ensure all readers find themselves represented
