Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised
Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised is a new SSP which has been developed has been developed by Wandle and Little Sutton English Hubs and taken forward by Little Sutton Primary School and Wandle Learning Trust in partnership with other phonics and early reading experts. It provides a convenient, consistent and highly effective approach to teaching phonics, based on the latest research. It is one of the Department for Education's validated systematic synthetic phonics programmes.
The programme has also been endorsed by Sir Jim Rose author of the Rose Review, and phonics expert Jenny Chew OBE, both of whom were involved in writing the Letters and Sounds Framework 2007. A membership package includes weekly content for every phonics lesson for Reception and Year 1, video and written guidance, support for parents, how-to videos, assessment material and training.
The inclusion of fully decodable reading books is also central to the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised SSP programme, and Little Wandle have formed a partnership with Harper Collins to provide fully decodable books matched to the new programme.
