SEN support

Find books for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We understand that all young people have different abilities, and some students may struggle with reading and need more specialised texts. We can also supply books in Braille for blind and visually impaired students.

Includes dyslexia-friendly books and Hi-Lo (or high/low) books are books which contain engaging age-appropriate subject matter at a low reading level for struggling readers. The content is appropriate to the age of the readers, but the text has been edited to suit a lower reading age. High/low books can help build reading fluency, vocabulary, background knowledge and interest in reading. They provide support for the student, including illustrations to support the text, carefully chosen vocabulary, background knowledge and interest in reading.

SEN book packs

If you need help choosing, our SEN book packs for Key Stage 3 are ideal for stocking up on titles suitable for your SEN students. The Quick reads (reluctant readers) pack is aimed at those readers who are perfectly able but difficult to motivate to pick up a book. These packs contain a mixture of short fiction and non-fiction texts that should appeal to their interests.

Got reluctant readers with specific interests? Let us know and our team can do a bespoke selection for you.
